Our core hypothesis was that strategically placing backlinks in Google News and High DR website guest posts—coupled with embedded Google Maps for a specific local business—would create an immediate impact on organic keyword rankings and potentially drive local map visibility. We centered our efforts around “emergency towing”–related search terms to see if backlinks with highly targeted anchor text could move the needle in both organic and local results.
Over a one-week period, we published 20 posts on reputable Google News websites and 20 Posts on 30+ DR Guest post website. Of these:
- 22 posts linked back to the main domain of the towing service.
- 18 posts included a backlink to the business’s Google Maps listing.
Each post featured an embedded Google Maps window to showcase the business’s location and promote local ranking improvements. While we’re not disclosing the exact domain or map URL, the integration followed a consistent format across all 20 posts.
Targeted Anchor Text
All anchor text focused on “emergency towing” and related variations. Here’s a sample of the wording we used (with the city name and domain intentionally hidden for confidentiality):
- “Local 24/7 Emergency Towing in [Location]”
- “Reliable 24/7 Emergency Towing in [Location]”
- “Emergency Towing in [Location]”
- “24/7 Emergency Towing in [Location]”
- “A Reputable Emergency Towing Service”
(And several similar anchor texts targeting both the main domain and the Google Maps listing.)
By December 22, 2024, all posts were live. They were crawled over the subsequent days, with full indexation by December 30, 2024.
