HOW CAN YOU TRIGGER OR INFLUENCE A FEATURED SNIPPET WITH IMAGES?

We hypothesized that if we found search terms returning snippets and implemented the media on our site in the same way, Google would pull the snippet. This belief was based on the fact that Google is mostly using machine learning to determine what data gets pulled as a snippet. Schema markup and other methods have not been defined to pull a snippet in any of our tests. It’s hit or miss.

If we mimicked the result already pulling a snippet in our exact SERP, and the site consistently got snippets, not only could we reproduce a consistent method to get snippets, but we would also confirm that certain data could be treated differently from SERP to SERP.

Search engines are putting images, videos, and even PDFs in search snippets. Since getting more SERP real estate produces a better CTR, we first tested possible ways of triggering a snippet.
