We hypothesize that inserting internal links within Schema markup may provide SEO value by reinforcing keyword relevance and passing internal link equity. If Google recognizes and follows these links, it could enhance internal linking strength, contributing to improved rankings for the linked pages. However, given that these links are placed in metadata rather than standard on-page content, their impact on rankings may be minimal or ignored altogether by search engines.
If you weren’t aware, you can put hyperlinks in your metadata by using a hyperlink code – except we use (‘) instead of (“). So the “How It Works” hyperlink looks like this in the Schema:
