WILL A SERVICE PAGE RANK HIGHER IF INCLUDED IN A LOCAL DIRECTORY?

COMPLETED

Our hypothesis is that incorporating service pages into local directories, and embedding directory-style content at strategic locations within a website’s main page, would have a significant impact on the page’s ranking in organic local search results. This theory is that by aligning with both the local business and directory listing search intents within the content, a service page could achieve better visibility and ranking. We further theorize that the placement of directory links and content—whether at the top or bottom of the page—could influence Google’s interpretation of the content’s intent, thereby affecting the page’s overall SEO performance.
We often see both local businesses and directory listings in organic local search. Each provides a slightly different experience based on the intent of the searcher. So if we were to include both types of search intent in our content, would the page rank better?
