Our hypothesis is that utilizing unique Unicode characters in web content, including page titles and metadata, could impact Google’s search indexing and ranking algorithms differently than standard ASCII text characters. We theorize that while some Unicode characters may be recognized and indexed by Google as equivalent textual content, leading to potential changes in search rankings, others might not be indexed or could affect how content is perceived in terms of uniqueness and relevance.
Unicode is the different codes that are used to represent various letters, numbers, and characters. You can apply different funds to a Unicode to make it look different. Even though some Unicodes look different they are not different fonts, it’s the actual character. For example, when you type a cursive letter instead of non-cursive, that 𝓐 is different than 𝗔.
