Our hypothesis is that Google Business Profile (GBP) pulls information about services directly from the business’s website, and that these GBP services getting pulled from the website can positively impact the business’s rankings on search engine results pages (SERP). This impact is theorized to occur regardless of the specific section of the website from which Google extracts these services, indicating that Google’s algorithm may not prioritize a specific section for service information extraction but rather scans the entire website content for relevant services. Additionally, we theorize that the presence of related terms and variations of the services offered throughout the website content, even if not explicitly listed as services on the website, can influence the services Google suggests for the GBP. Through this test, we aim to explore the potential of optimizing a business’s website content—not just for traditional SEO purposes but specifically to influence GBP service listings and improve GBP rankings. Our ultimate goal is to develop a model for the “Perfect GBP Landing Page” that leverages onsite SEO exclusively to achieve top SERP rankings for all target terms through strategic content placement and service description on the business’s website
We set up this test to prove something we theorized on a previous test…
